Lisa L. recently returned from Spain, her second trip with International Commission. She shares her favorite story of how she witnessed God's grace, forgiveness, and mercy toward a young man who needed it most.

"A young man, around the age of 22, came by the church we were serving alongside, feeling very guilty for not attending church. As he told us his story, we found out that COVID had been a very difficult time for his family. His father was in the hospital, dying, and no one could visit. He had prayed over and over to God to save his father's life, even offering in return to attend church regularly and follow God if he were to recover. When his father eventually recovered, the young man failed to keep up 'his end of the bargain.'

We were able to share with him about God's love and forgiveness. We explained there were no conditions or offerings we could give as Christ had already done everything by dying on the cross for us and being raised from the dead. When he heard this Good News, he prayed to receive Christ as Savior and Lord!

We explained that now he has a new heart as the 'old' has passed away and he is a new creation. He has a new beginning, and we encouraged him to read his bible, get involved in church, and find good friends who believe as well. After praying for him, his face changed, and he had a new expression of joy and peace.

Please continue to pray for this young man as he begins his new life in Christ!"
