One day I was out with another team member, Blake, who met a guy on the street with tattoos all over his face and body. He had no shirt on but had a set of beads, spiritual beads, around his neck. This was a rough, rough-looking guy.

Blake asked if he could share [the gospel] with him and the guy said he didn't have time.

The guy then walked away, down the street, but reappeared a few moments later with a shirt on and said he was willing to listen. He put a shirt on because the interpreter was a woman and it was a sign of respect to her. Blake began talking to him and was very blunt; very bold, telling this kingpin man exactly what was on his mind.

Blake said, "Sir, I know who you are." He said, "Who?" Blake replied, "You're a punk!" He turned to his interpreter and asked, "Does that word translate here?" she replied, "Ohh yeah, it translates."

In the process of this conversation, Blake led this man to the Lord! Afterward, he took his spiritual beads off, threw them on the ground, and stomped on them. Then he went and got a sack to pick the beads up with because he didn't want to touch them with his fingers.

Now that was a TRUE conversion. When he took away the spiritual bondage that was around his neck and threw it away, he walked away with joy on his face!

This international partnership to Brazil took place from June - July 2023.
